Gig posters

Dunno what I think about these. My instructors were really enthused about the first one and said it was basically finished when I showed it to them last week, but a week later they liked the teeth one more. I have no idea how I did on this assignment... I do know that they look a billion times better on a screen though.

Alternate color- I think I like it more.

Alternate cropping- I think I like this more as well.

Genre Environments

The idea was to create environments based on the combination of two genres. My genres were sci-fi and the wild west. We had to do an interior, exterior, transportation, mood, and overview. Basically it's the Jetsons meets the old west.

Visual Metaphor

So the idea was to create three illustrations for a theoretical brochure for a company of our choice. The company I chose was Toyota. Because of the recall and whatnot, the illustrations focus on regaining trust, safety, diversification for success, and environmental responsibility. I liked the idea for the last one but I don't think it looks that good... so it's a bonus.

The Shooting of Dan McGrew

project of opposites

I'm glad I didn't do this all on the computer, there's something about doing things by hand, even if you go into photoshop afterwards, that looks... solid.

The article is about overfishing threatening tuna with extinction, basically. I read a similar article in National Geographic many years ago and have not eaten tuna at a sushi restaurant (of course the biggest demand for tuna is for sushi) ever since, and basically try to avoid tuna as much as possible.

Silhouettes

Silhouette illustration based on the Dream Theater song The Count of Tuscany. The cover I did was shit so I won't post it, ha.

conceptual illustration

So this illustration goes with an article about a pedophile guy who created a bunch of online personas in order to deceive and convince little girls to send him naked pictures of themselves. I pretty much tried to simplify it down as much as possible. This is also the second time I've managed to incorporate dead sheep in one of my assignments, ha.

some fire from one of the best bands of all time.

stuff from last semester

I saw her on Letterman and thought it was good. I kind of forgot about her until Derek posted up the Letterman performance again. I got the album a little while ago, and it's awesome. DEATH METAL! just kidding.

oh yeah, i have a blog thing...

i've been ignoring this for a while. so here is some newer stuff.

and this song comes highly recommended by me. even if death metal isn't your thing, the lyrics themselves are pretty hilarious.

part 3

it seems youtube is stopping record companies from embedding their music videos. fortunately "view source" solves this pretty easily.

or not.

part2

the color in the second thumbnail looks orange. the actual image is more red.

mirror part 1

Work in progress.

IALAC stands for I Am Lovable And Caring. We had to wear these cards around all day and tear a piece if someone hurt our feelings.

Inspired by kindergarten. I like how the sun rays look like hair.

Typical conversation with random kids from high school days.

Me in the future.
